WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...Hi, we are the friendly faces behind Baby Bug.
At Baby Bug, we’re more than a team. We’re women who showed up for each other first — as friends, as support systems, as steady hands during big moments. Our paths crossed when we didn’t even realize we needed one another, and from that beautiful timing, Baby Bug grew to what it is today.
HOW IT STARTEDIt all started at a mom group.
A space where stories were shared openly and mothers felt safe enough to be honest.
Amanda was there as a guest speaker, listening as moms opened up about their journeys, the beautiful parts and the hard parts. She wasn’t just there to talk. She was there to truly hear them.
Ashley was sitting in that circle too. She shared pieces of her own story, offering comfort and encouragement to other moms without even realizing she was already stepping into the role of support. That night, something stirred in her. She asked about the journey of becoming a doula (especially a postpartum doula)and what it would really take.
After the group ended, Amanda sat down with her. They talked about courses, commitment, the emotional weight of the work, and the heart behind it. It wasn’t just information being exchanged, it was vision. In that conversation, trust was built.
A few months later, they found themselves seated at the same table at the Mother May I Gala, a night dedicated to supporting mothers and maternal mental health.
That’s where Jessica came into the story.
She shared her journey with infertility, the struggles, the healing, and everything in between. She spoke with honesty and strength, and in doing so, she created space for others to feel seen in their own experiences. She didn’t just share her story, she shared her knowledge, her growth, and her heart with all of us.
That night held laughter, tears, deep conversations, and the kind of connection that feels like it was always meant to happen.
Numbers were exchanged.
And a week later, Ashley began her journey toward becoming a postpartum doula.
What started as a simple conversation became something much bigger.
Together, they carry big dreams for what Baby Bug will be, a place where all families feel welcome and supported. New moms. Fifth-time moms. Same-sex couples. Surrogacy journeys. Adoption stories. Every version of motherhood deserves steady, compassionate care.
Baby Bug was built on shared values, lived experience, and a deep belief that no mother should feel alone.
With Jessica now part of that vision, bringing her story, her strength, and her wisdom, the foundation only grew stronger.
We’ll continue showing up, in mom groups, at markets, in your homes, and online, always working toward the same goal:
To support mothers in whatever way they need.
This is how we began.
And we’re just getting started — together. 🤍
